Regional Offices

The role of the regional offices is to co-ordinate the Kenya Sugar Board activities in their respective sugar zones.

There are three regional offices whose key objectives are:-

  •     To represent KSB at fora of interest.
  •     To provide data collection services.
  •     Liaison activities within the zones.

1. Mombasa

The Mombasa office draws from the entire Kenya Sugar Board Mission, Vision, Core Values and Objectives! A core functionality of this office is based around Surveillance operations.
Organization and Reporting
The office has the Head of Surveillance, two surveillance officers, an Administration assistant and an office assistant.
Surveillance Officers
Report (functionally) to the Company Secretary but administratively to the Head of Surveillance. They are responsible for facilitating the  mandate of the Board with respect to control of imports and export of sugar to ensure compliance with the relevant laws. Responsibilities include:

  •     Intelligence
  •     Coordinating of Licensing
  •     Enforcement
  •     Routine Functions
  •     Advisory Role

Administration Assistant
Reports administratively to the Regional Head but functionally to the Head of Finance. They are responsible for facilitating efficient and effective implementation of HR policies, procedures and systems. Other responsibilities include, records management, staff welfare and industrial relations.
Office Assistant
Reports to the Administration Assistant. They are responsible for offering support services, cleanliness and movement of documents from one department to the other.

2. Kisumu Office

The Kisumu office draws from the entire Kenya Sugar Board Mission, Vision, Core Values and Objectives! A core functionality of this office is based around Surveillance operations.

Organization and Reporting
Regional Manager
Reports to the Chief Executive Officer. They are responsible for providing liaison and representation of Kenya Sugar with stakeholders, facilitating KSB activities in the region and general management of Regional Office.

Administration Assistant
Reports administratively to the Regional Manager but functionally to the Head of Finance. They are responsible for facilitating efficient and effective implementation of HR policies, procedures and systems. Other responsibilities include, records management, staff welfare and industrial relations.
Credit Officer
Reports to the Regional Manager administratively but to the SDF Manager functionally. Responsible for appraisal, monitoring and evaluation of SDF projects and investment of surplus funds.
Statistical Officer
Reports to the Regional Manager administratively but technically to the Senior statician. Responsible for collecting, compiling and analyzing statistical data and compile statistical returns.

3. Kakamega Office

The Kakamega office draws from the entire Kenya Sugar Board Mission, Vision, Core Values and Objectives! A core functionality of this office is based around Surveillance operations.

Reports to the Chief Executive Officer. They are responsible for providing liaison and representation of Kenya Sugar with stakeholders, facilitating KSB activities in the region and general management of Regional Office.

Statician
Reports to the Regional Manager administratively but technically to the Head of Planning. Responsible for coordinating/participating in the collection, compilation, analysis, interpretation and timely dissemination of relevant statistical data for users.
Credit Officer
Reports to the Regional Manager administratively but to the SDF Manager functionally. Responsible for appraisal, monitoring and evaluation of SDF projects and investment of surplus funds.
