The Finance department is committed to the development and implementation of sound financial policies and systems to ensure optimal utilization of the Board's financial resources.

The department also ensures timely mobilization of financial resources through effective engagement with partners.

Quality Objectives

  • Prepare an annual corporate budget in line with the government guidelines to meet KSB objectives.
  • Implement and monitor budget performance by preparing quarterly management accounts and analyzing the variances to inform decision-making.
  • Prepare annual financial statements that comply with relevant Kenyan laws and International Financial Reporting
  • Process payments in line with the relevant policies, prescribed guidelines, agreed terms and conditions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Production of timely and reliable management and financial accounts
  • Proper custody of assetsĀ 


  • Formulate and design effective financial management systems which include the accounting and other internal control systems.
  • Maintain accounting records and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Produce timely management reports and financial statement.
  • Carry out credit control
  • Ensure compliance with any lenders, credit conditions and reporting requirements.


Head of Finance (HOF): The HOF reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for promoting effectiveness and efficiency in the use of the Board's funds and assets. The HOF is charged with developing, implementing, maintaining and enhancing efficient operational financial management systems.

Management Accountant: The Management accountant reports to the Head of Finance and is responsible for the preparation of management reports for the Kenya Sugar Board.

Financial Accountant: The Financial Accountant reports to the Head of Finance and is responsible for facilitating and implementing effective and efficient financial management systems and procedures.

Accountants: The accountant reports to the Management and Financial Accountants. They are responsible for processing, posting and generating data required for preparation of financial management reports.

Cashier: Responsible for cash office management
